In 2019, we recruited our first ever SPAR NI Executive Chef, step forward, Carl Johannesson.

Carl has had an incredible career so far, with his job taking him all around the world, heading up some of the finest kitchens both at home and abroad, including the world famous Gleneagle’s Hotel in Scotland, and the James Street South Group in Belfast.

Leading a team of 13 at our kitchen in Randalstown, Carl creates our fresh own brand series of meals, The Chef, and he also produces recipes for our website.
