Budget Friendly Night In

With the cost of living rising, it can be hard to have a fun weekend, keep the kids entertained and unwind from the working week. That is why we have come up with 5 things you can do this weekend to enjoy yourself in a budget friendly way.

1. Fakeaway

There is no need to splash out on an expensive takeaway when you can create your own. A fakeaway can be tastier, healthier, and much cheaper especially when you can visit your local SPAR for all the ingredients you will need. Check out our recipe section for some inspiration.

2.Movie Night

Fuel, popcorn and ticket prices, a night at the cinema can really add up. So, sit in and take advantage of the movie options from home. With Netflix, movies on Freeview and using free streaming services like All4 and BBC iPlayer you will surely find something you enjoy. Also don’t forget to pick up all your movie snacks at your local SPAR!

3.Games Night

Games night is an easy, stress-free night which can be done with the kids or friends. With a simple deck of cards, you can play games like snap, old maid, jack changes it and go fish. Or play family fun games like Monopoly, Top trumps, and Uno, which will guarantee an enjoyable night in.

4.SPA Night

After a busy week at work, Friday night is a good time to take some time off and rejuvenate your body and mind. There are so many ways this can be done in a budget friendly way! Simply run a bubble bath, put on a face mask or even find a quiet corner in the house and read a book.

5.Mocktail Class

Going out for drinks can be expensive and sometimes isn’t worth the hassle or the hangover. So, a great alternative is making your own non-alcoholic mocktails which are just as refreshing and can be a great activity to do with the kids or friends. Just remember you can pick up all your mocktail ingredients from your local SPAR.

FYI – We have a great selection of mocktails in our recipe section.
