What you'll need:

  • 1Kg Royal Gala Apples (Sliced)
  • 150g Caster Sugar
  • 50g Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 Sheet Ready Roll Shortcrust Pastry
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)

Method:

  1. Coat sliced  apples in caster sugar & cinnamon
  2. Cut sheet of pastry in half, one section for the base and the other, the topping.
  3. Fit one half of the sheet of pastry into the base of a pie dish. In one half of the pastry sheet, carve out a spooky pumpkin face for the topping.
  4. Layer apples around the base of the pie dish and cover with the carved out half of pastry for the topping.
  5. Brush topping with egg before putting in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes, or until the pie crust is golden brown.
  6. Serve with custard
