A delicious, savoury treat.
These bite-sized tartlets are filled with golden caramelised onions and topped with cheese, then baked to golden perfection.
What you'll need:
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
- 50g goat’s cheese or cheddar (optional)
- Fresh thyme
Method:
- Cook onions in olive oil on low heat until soft (about 20 mins).
- Add sugar and cook another 5 mins until golden and sticky.
- Cut pastry into squares, score a border, and top with onions and cheese.
- Bake at 200°C for 15–20 mins until golden.
- Garnish with thyme and serve warm.
