Mince & Onion Pie with Mash
Quick and easy to make, this hearty Mince & Onion Pie with Mash is packed with flavour and full of protein—perfect for a comforting, satisfying meal any day of the week.
What you'll need:
- 400g SPAR enjoy local Beef Mince
- 1–2 Brown Onions, diced
- Erin Gravy Granules 170g
- Gilbert’s Puff Pastry 320g
- Mash Direct Mashed Potato 400g
- Salt & Black Pepper
- 1 Egg
Method:
- Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan).
- Fry diced onions in a little oil over medium heat for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add the mince and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Prepare the gravy with hot water as per pack instructions. Add to the mince and simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
- Transfer the mince & onion mixture to an ovenproof dish.
- Roll the puff pastry over the top, trim edges and press down with a fork to seal.
- Baste pastry with eggwash and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Heat the Mash Direct Mashed Potato according to pack instructions and serve alongside.
