Sausage Casserole

What you'll need:

  • 450 grams sausages
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 115 grams mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 sachet Schwartz sausage casserole seasoning mix
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 300 ml cold water
  • Mashed potato, for serving


  • Preheat the oven to 180° C (Gas mark 4)
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the sausages until browned. Add the onions and cook for a further 3-4 minutes until softened.
  • Place sausages and onion in an ovenproof casserole dish with the mushrooms and peppers.
  • Blend the contents of the sachet with the water and add to the dish. Cover and cook in the oven for 1 hour.
  • Enjoy with creamy mashed potato.
  • Top Tip: Add some chopped potatoes into the sausage casserole mix before cooking in the oven to make the ultimate one pot dish!
