
You don’t need flour to make a big helping of fried chicken. Here’s our #SPARSubstitute - swap flour for oats to make a lovely crust.
1-1/2 cups porridge oats
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt and pepper
Chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs)
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp oil
1.In a shallow bowl or large resealable plastic bag, combine oats, paprika, chili powder, salt if desired, garlic powder, cumin and pepper.
2.Dip chicken in milk, then coat with oat mixture.
3.Place on baking dish dish.
4.Drizzle with oil. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 45-50 minutes or until juices run clear.
